Is Acoustic Sound Healing More Powerful Than Electronic

Some people think that using acoustic instruments are much more powerful for healing as opposed to electronic devices like sound tables. Comments?

Acoustic can be very powerful,The power of acoustic folk music on an intellectual level can be very powerful. But as in trance music, with rhythmic drumming, hits on a deeper primative level. (Hamsa Lila!) I cannot dismiss, though the deep core experiences I have had while listening to amplified music with a talented bass player and syncopated drummers, for the most powerful experiences. But this may be only because of the amplification factor. I have always felt that wooden music was more human.

I think these things have to be experienced.. In my own experience... synthesizers have a quality that when amplified and manipulated correctly can be a very transformative experience... but acoustics have their unique characters too..

either way.. its moving air..each depends on its individual use ...

like a microphone... there are no bad ones, only bad use of them.

It has been stated that the human voice is able to bring through frequencies that electronic instrumentation cannot.
As a sound healer who uses the voice, I tend to agree.
As far as being more powerful...What constitutes power ???

Your own voice I would say.
The whole of me is like a sensitive musical instrument.
I tune my instrument and bring out the "melody" that gives me Joy.

As I understand it the perception of the quantity or quality is relative to the individual expericencing the sound as this is part of the complexity of nature. Also the degree and quality of intention is quite significant especially in healing, more so than what instrument one chooses to channel their creative and healing energies through. The thing people loose sight of is that everything man made is God made, so while I often go back and forth between loving electronic music and acoustic music, I know that electronic music and synthesized sound can be quite natural too, I've experienced myself while tweeking the knobs of synths or circuit bending these sources of sound have a life of their own too, as if these machines have soul, again it is a matter of tuning in and intention. The beautiful thing to know is the power of the human body without exterior instruments and in this case i see the possibility of instruments, musical, medical or otherwise as ultimately unnecessary and more so for the occupation of the human mind and spirit, like a rubics cube or a mathmatical problem to solve for no other reason than enjoyment. As some day we will all have the power to fly without machines, instruments or wings.

Love!

I love both for different purposes. I feel acoustic music is a more healing because it's a direct transmission from player thru instrument to the person receiving; the vibrational sound wave is more refined. A healer can create an "attunement".

The electronics carries all the EMF frequencies with it and is routed thru a machine so the energy is more static, it can be "electrifying" and create trance but it not the same (to me) as healing by a (trained) master who is transmitting energy thru finely tuned instruments. The human voice is one of the most powerful instruments...

The short answer is: I will let you know some years from now!
The longer answer (theory): it depends on hwo you think healing 'works'; if you think it is a placebo effect then it is mental association that is important, and connections made; for example, I am working with sonification whereby an image is rendered into sound. Anyhow, it has nothing to do with the intrinisc properties of the sound as such: because it is the power of association that is doing the healing.
On the other hand, if you think that a certain healing modality has intrinsic energy properties, then i agree that acoustic sound is going to be more effective; in particular vocalised sound, such as my MU healing Hoi Choy Mo which uses falling and rising tones sequenced in a certain way: this is done using my voice only.
Then again, analogue synthesis is different from digital emulation of analogue circuits; but a well made violin produces a different sound spectrum to a sampled or modelled sound.
Of ocurse, it may be that both views of how healing works are true! I believe that the healer should make best use, under guidance, of all resources and tools avaliable.
I am channelling healing in different forms, from the ancient motherland of MU:

You raise an interesting point, thank you.
